DENTAL CLINIC

For the past 3 months,my hubby and i,together with his staff are busy, in preparation for hubby's own dental clinic.I must say,it is not easy putting up a clinic.From ordering big dental equipments,down to cotton balls is so much stressing.75% of the materials and equipments are mostly bought outside the country, from his dental chair,light curing device,sterilizer,composite resin,scaler and etc have to be shifted 1 month before to test if all are doing well.In god's grace, everything are working well accordingly...He make it a point that he choose the innovative, unique and highly reliable products for the clinic.I must say again its very stressful but with god's grace everything is doing smoothly and easy.

Well be opening on Oct.8,2009..First 10 patients will be given 50% discount..

MY KIKAY KIT

All girls agree with me that most of us has our own KIKAY-KIT..Its our little pouchy where we put our beauty essentials that we carried around.From make-up's to alcohol to powder-to toothpaste-to lipstics-to tissue and etc.Every time i go somewhere i have to make sure that i have my rosary,my kikay-kit and my wallet..Its something that complete's my whole being..and my whole get-up..

DENGUE

Long before.mosquitoes for me is just one of those little flying insect that when it bites me,i just scratch it and then its ok.But now,its one of the most dangerous carrier disease called DENGUE.Really, really breaks my heart and tearing myself apart everytime i heard about dengue cases for which i lost a very smart,intelligent,kind,handsome and bubbly nephew.3 years ago,my first nephew died of cardiac arrest,secondary to dengue.Aj boy is a fun loving 14 year old boy who is a computer addict.As i am writing this blog,im bursting into tears because just 4 days ago,we celebrated his 18th birthday.I have a lot to write about him and slowly want to elaborate what happened but i guess,im not yet ready to write about his biography and why ended so early..Let me just share to all of you what causes him to be with the lord so early.After all the laboratory test are done,the doctors prognosis is dengue.Its a virus caught from mosquito bite,Mosquito become infected when they bite infected human and transmit to other people.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF DENGUE

• fever lasting 2-7 days
• nausea / vomiting
• bleeding tendencies from nose and gums
• abdominal pain
• weakness of the body
• joint and muscle pain
• rashes
• low-platelet count

Mostly dengue occurs in tropical areas such as asia and outbreaks occurs during rainy season.Dengue live along humans and breed in discarded tires,flower pots,canals,cans,softdrink caps and etc.Dengue bites during the day.For us not to give them the benefit to breed,we should make it a point all grounds for breeding should be kept clean and closed.Until this moment there are no vaccines to prevent dengue.Patients who are diagnosed with dengue are advised to put to rest,drink a lot of clear fluids and adviced not to eat solid foods so that the body can rest from digestion and can concentrate on healing.

SOME PREVENTIONS OF DENGUE FEVER:

• Wear clothes that could cover your arms,legs,hands,ankles and feet
• Use bed nets
• Use insect repellent
• Aerosols insectisides help clean the area
• stagnant waters should be clean everyday
• Drink lots of water
• Take vitamins to boost immune system

As a mom to a 4 month baby boy,i am very careful and overly protective of him.I make it a point that we follow all the the preventions .I make sure that he wear leg or arm warmer everyday.I applied him SHOO FLY from Indigo as his insect repellent (really safe and really works for infants)gave him lots of water and vitamins.Not to expose him to places in which mosquitos are visible and make sure that our area is clean and well maintained.People may find me very meticulous but i don't mind them because i know its for a good cause.

TOOTH DECAY MAY CAUSE HEART FAILURE

Little did we know that as simple as tooth decay may lead to a HEART FAILURE.Let me discuss first what really tooth decay is.Many of us thought its just one of those little thingy in our teeth that when we brush, it will go away instantly.Tooth decay means the loss of the mineral from teeth.A disease where in a bacteria damages the hard tooth structure.There are two common termed used for tooth decay.

These are:

1. CAVITY - a hole resulting to the tooth decay process
2. CARIES - rotten, due to the tooth decay process

Untreated tooth decay may cause destruction,lead to different infections,tooth loss which is extremely painful,and should be removed and be replaced by a prosthesis.The plaque that is forming in our teeth contains bacteria that feed on the sugar for up to 15 to 2o minutes of eating in our mouth that makes acids,and attack after eating and during these time these acid distroy the tooth enamel that caused tooth decay.

Based from the researchers,there is a connection between a gum disease and a heart attack. The bacteria in dental plaque may cause blood clot,and may developed a heart attack, when they released in the blood stream. People who have periodontal disease are highly risk of heart diseases.

TOOTH - DECAY PREVENTIONS :

• Brush your teeth at least 3x a day with a fluoride containing toothpaste
• Clean in between your teeth with a dental floss

• Eat healthy foods and avoid carbohydrates such as candy's,chocolates and chips
• Visit your dentist regularly for cleaning and oral exams.

Our health is very important more than anything.We cannot function well if we are not healthy.We should give importance to our body than material things.We should maintain a healthy living so we could have longer lives.We only have one life so we have to take good care of it..

LACTOSE INTOLERANCE AND LACTOSE FREE MILK

When i gave birth to our first child,i am very excited to feed him my very own milk because i know for a fact that breastfeeding is far much more important than bottle feeding.Breast milk is best for babies as they said.As i start to feed him with my milk,my baby had a hard time sucking because my other nipple is retroverted so he had a hard time sucking it.We tried gentle vacuum suction but yet,its not working.Poor baby,he keeps on trying to suck my milk.As days go by,we pity our baby for he still want more and yet,just a small amount of milk coming out,so we went to our pedia and ask her other solution,then she said,we cant do anything but to use pump.Getting my milk through pump is so hard and painful but because i love our baby dearly,pain doesn't count to me anymore.All i want was to give him my very own milk.It went for 3 weeks feeding him naturally,but as the days go by,my milk is slowly going down.I tried so many supplement but it just stop.We went to our Pedia and ask her about it and she said by now, well give him formula milk.She told us to use these Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Infant Formula.But after a week of using it,one afternoon my baby kept on crying as if he felt something so painful.He has no fever,no signs of allergy's.What are we gonna do to make him stop crying?My sister ask me if my baby is on colic and kept on crying?Then i said yes,she said my baby might be Lactose Intolerance.I barely know what is lactose intolerance,so we went to our Pedia again and then here's what she said.

Lactose is the inability to digest lactose,a sugar found in milk and formula milk.It will occur when the baby does not have enough Lactase,an enzyme needed to digest lactose usually in cow's milk formula.The symptoms usually occurs 30 to 60 minutes after drinking milk..

Usually the behavior of Lactose intolerance are as follows :

• the baby will cry inconsolably
• they twist their body to ease the pain or discomfort
• trouble in sleeping

With our Pediatrician's diagnosis,we were adviced to let our baby be fed with milk that are LACTOSE - FREE since he's Lactose intolerant.Soya milk and goats milk are also good to baby's who are Lactose intolerance.From then till now,my baby is doing good.He's going 5 months now,very healthy and bubbly. :-)

DOCTORS WIFE

SUNDAY..SUNDAY..SUNDAY!!! :-) I really really love Sunday's and its my favorite day of the week..Its the day where we hear mass and its a family day..We love Sunday's for we can unwind,bond as a

family the whole day and really spend quality time together with our baby.Our typical Sunday starts having a coffee,eating yummy breakfast,playing with our baby,bath,visit my nephew aya aj at oro garden's and go to our fave mall. For us,aside from what id just say,we also call Sunday our Pizza day because my husband and i really love pizza. We cant trade Pizza with any food.Truly we can even eat 2 boxes..lol!! :-) ..Its good thing one of our favorite Pizza parlor is having a promo in which if you have a Palm card,they will give you another box for free,then we can save more money heheheh!!!!isn't it great?For some families,they will go to the beach,visit some friends house,or simply by just staying home,watching some video or just lying in bed.

For now,i think me and my baby will just stay home, for my hubby had to go somewhere for a medical mission.I always ask him why do you have to go there?Its time for you to rest and be with us.(mumbling). But he just simply said,as much as i wanted to stay home honey but i also have commitments to people who cannot afford to go to a hospital to have them checked.This is a very small favor and i dont want to pass this moment.We are just so blessed because in our simple lifestyle we can afford to be checked anytime we want to,but this people can't.I know for sure theyr'e waiting for this moment, and i want to help them in my own little way.I cant let this missions passed..Then he kissed me and say well go out as soon as i get home.

Right at that very moment,i melted like ice.I exactly understand his point that not all his time are ours even sundays and for sure holidays too.I forgot i married a doctor.There was this instance also when were having our monthsary dinner when he had to live me at the restaurant because he had to go to the hospital for an emergency call.I felt sad but its ok i know there will be more monthsary's but there's only one life we got and he had to help him save that guy.I am so proud of my husband because as young as he is, he had help so many people unconditionally.
